Terms of Service

By using The DOT Binder you agree to these terms. If you are using it for a company, you confirm you are authorized to bind that company.
What the service is
The DOT Binder is record-keeping software. It stores compliance dates and files you enter and shows you which items appear overdue, due soon, missing, or current based on those entries and general FMCSA rules.
What the service is not
It is not legal, regulatory, or compliance advice, and it does not guarantee compliance. Rules change, have exceptions, and depend on facts we do not know. The checklist is only as accurate as the dates you enter. You remain solely responsible for meeting every federal, state, and local requirement, for making your own filings, and for the accuracy and completeness of your records. If you are unsure, consult a qualified compliance professional or attorney.
Your account
You sign in with one-time links sent to your email. Keep that inbox secure; anyone with access to it can access your account. Tell us at once if you believe your account has been compromised. The account owner may add other logins to the company; the owner is responsible for the people they add and can remove them at any time.
Your data
You own the records and files you upload. You grant us the limited right to store and process them to provide the service. You are responsible for having the right to store information about your drivers and for keeping your own backups and any records the law requires you to retain.
Subscription and billing
New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no card required. After that, saving, uploading, and reminder emails require a paid subscription, billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe. Plans are priced by the number of active vehicles on the account; adding vehicles beyond your plan's limit requires moving to the next plan, with the difference prorated. You can cancel any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the period you paid for. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices with 30 days' notice by email; changes apply at your next renewal.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to store information you have no right to store, to attack or overload the service, or for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
Availability
We aim for the service to be available at all times but do not guarantee it. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The DOT Binder is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for fines, penalties, out-of-service orders, lost loads, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including from any inaccuracy in the checklist. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination
You may close your account at any time by emailing support. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination we delete your data within 30 days unless the law requires otherwise.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Utah.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to account holders and take effect 14 days after notice.
